Benji Shackelford joined the Dirty Birds coaching staff in 2024, bringing the energy and competitive edge of a current collegiate standout. A Cherokee County native and 2022 graduate of Woodstock High School, Benji helped lead his team to an Elite Eight GHSA State Playoffs appearance his senior season before continuing his career at Reinhardt University. Now a senior attackman at Reinhardt, Benji earned 2025 All-American honors — a testament to the elite-level play that has defined his time with one of the most decorated programs in NAIA lacrosse. Following graduation, Benji plans to serve in the armed forces. In the meantime, he is passionate about giving back to the game and mentoring the next generation of Dirty Birds players with the same competitive drive and dedication that earned him All-American recognition.
