Sean Aghai joined the Dirty Birds coaching staff in 2026, bringing over 20 years of lacrosse expertise and one of the most well-rounded coaching resumes in the program. A graduate of McEachern High School, Sean was a multi-sport varsity athlete who competed in three varsity sports from his sophomore year forward — culminating in a state wrestling championship. He went on to play lacrosse at Reinhardt University and Kennesaw State University, where he made history by becoming the first long pole at Reinhardt to score — a distinction that reflects both his versatility and his determination to compete at the highest level. Over the past 12-plus years, Coach Aghai has built a coaching resume that spans Hillgrove, River Ridge, Sequoyah, Woodstock, and Etowah — helping players at every level develop the fundamentals and confidence that carry them forward. In addition to his coaching background, Sean brings over 20 years of equipment expertise as an experienced stick stringer — giving him a comprehensive, ground-level understanding of the game that goes far beyond the field. Outside of lacrosse, he manages a cabinet and countertop business, bringing the same steady, organized, and detail-oriented approach to the sideline that defines his professional life.
