Sam Rose, Coach
Sam Rose returns to the Dirty Birds coaching staff in 2026 as a former coach within the program prior to the 2022 relaunch — bringing the perspective of someone with deep roots in the Atlanta lacrosse community and a steadily ascending coaching career. A Marietta native and graduate of Pope High School, Sam was a four-year varsity letterman before transitioning into coaching in 2017. He began his coaching career within the Pope lacrosse program before joining Walton High School, where he was part of the coaching staff that helped secure the 2019 GHSA State Championship. He most recently served as an assistant coach at Etowah High School, where he helped guide the girls' team to a state playoff appearance. Sam currently leads the Woodstock High School Men's Lacrosse program as Head Coach — a role that reflects the trust and confidence he has earned across more than eight years of building competitive lacrosse programs at every level. Off the field, Sam is a passionate social studies educator who holds a Master's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of Georgia, and most recently taught at Northview High School while continuing his work within the Pope Middle School lacrosse program. He resides in Woodstock with his wife Lexi and their dog Bo, and is fully committed to bringing the same culture of hard work, integrity, and excellence to Dirty Birds that he is building at every level of his coaching and teaching career.
