Joshua Shackelford joined the Dirty Birds coaching staff in 2025, bringing the perspective and energy of a current collegiate player to the sideline. A Cherokee County native and graduate of Woodstock High School, Josh was a standout three-sport varsity athlete before going on to play collegiate lacrosse at Reinhardt University. At Reinhardt, Josh was an integral part of the program's national championship run and earned the role of team captain in his senior year — a reflection of the leadership and commitment he brings to every team he is part of. On the high school coaching side, Josh currently serves as the Middle of the Field Coach for Walton High School's Varsity Lacrosse Program — working with midfielders at the highest level of Georgia prep lacrosse. Off the field, he is on a pre-law academic track with aspirations of pursuing a career in political law. Josh brings the same discipline and competitive drive to his coaching that he applies to every area of his life.
